Paris attack plus

Paris attack plus Christmas

Well it has been a week now and there is still no consensus as to what all happened. Best I can get out of it is that ISIS was behind the incidents. Yes that was plural. There appears to have been at least 10 separate sites on Friday the 13th of November 2015. At least 3 countries were hit with Paris being the worst.

Bottom line [s] is that for the most part we as individuals cannot control the big picture issues. Right? ;[
There is some indication that some of the perps were in the refugees coming out of Syria. Maybe, maybe not. There has been a lot of discussion on states [in the US] refusing to take in any more refugees until this all settles down.

OK, so what do we do?!?

Here is what we are doing. Hauling water and chopping wood. Same thing we do every day. We do the best we can to prepare so that we and those we have stewardship for so that we cannot just survive, we intend to thrive!

Regardless of if you want the refugees from Syria [or anywhere] here or not, call your senator and house rep in DC, after that call your state level people including the Governor and tell them what you want them to do. Make sure that you support the candidate of your choice. GET ENGAGED with what is going on politically. Get involved in neighborhood watch, if there isn’t one…. start it. Talk with the Emergency Management people or fire department about CERT.

Read widely and know what the issues are. Listen to both sides of the ‘news’ aka Pravda type talkers.

Inventory your provisions and supplies. Fill in any gaps that you find. Get out of debt. Decide if you need to have some extra fuel cans on hand.

Discuss the situation with your friends and family and decide how to handle things before they happen.

In essence do what we have been discussing for the last several years and maybe walk a little faster when you are carrying the water and chopping wood.

Be grateful for who is in your life, what you have – however much or little – and that we still have some time left [not much though].

What we had planned on talking about today is that Christmas is just around the corner [34 days and counting] in our family we put small preparedness items in the stockings.

We also focus on prepper stuff for the main presents too. By the way, games can be considered prepping. Today I would like to suggest magnesium fire striker as a stocking stuffer. You also may consider some of the books members of our team wrote. See ‘our store’ on our blog page.
